Qualifications

  • Knowledge of industrial hygiene principles and practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain active MSHA Blue Card certification and training records.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company health and safety requirements.

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies, procedures, and programs.

  • Prepare reports, presentations, and safety-related documentation.
  • Promote employee engagement and participation in health and safety programs.

Position Summary

The Health & Safety Specialist is responsible for supporting and maintaining a safe and compliant work environment within a mining operation. This position ensures compliance with MSHA regulations, delivers required safety training, conducts incident investigations, and supports occupational health and industrial hygiene initiatives. The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert in mine safety and regulatory compliance while promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organization.

  • Ability to work in a mining environment, including surface and underground locations as required.
