Woodward Camp in Woodward, PA, is seeking an on-site Health and Safety Manager to develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety programs. You will identify risks, mitigate incidents, and ensure safety for staff and Woodward guests, while also providing patient care and managing a seasonal medical staff.

Qualifications

• EMT, Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC), Certified Athletic Trainer, or Registered Nurse certification required or able to obtain before start.
• Current AED/CPR/First Aid certification required.
• 3+ years of experience in medical or health management field.

Your primary responsibility will be to identify and mitigate potential risks, injuries, and incidents, ensuring a safe and secure work environment for all team members and Woodward guests. You will work and play in the same innovative environments as professional and Olympic athletes!Discounts on food, retail and gear!Career Development and growth opportunities here and at our facilities across the globe!A connection with people who share the same passions and embrace each other’s unique and individual styles.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESRisk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct thorough risk assessments across all aspects of Woodward Camp operations, identifying potential hazards, and implementing effective risk mitigation strategies.Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, standards, and guidelines. Stay updated on changes in workplace laws, legislation, and industry best practices.Safety Audits: Oversee regular safety audits and inspections of all facilities, report findings and recommendations to Senior Leaders.Emergency Response: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, injury response plans, and medical directives.Safety Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate records of safety data, incidents, injuries, and compliance reports.Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into workplace and guest accidents, incidents, and near misses, and develop corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.Daily Operations: Oversee medical facilities to ensure proper patient care, hydration activations around campus, inventory and ordering of medical supplies.Safety Team: Hiring, onboarding, scheduling and other management of summer seasonal medical teams.Safety Culture: Foster a culture of safety awareness and responsibility among all team members, encouraging active participation in safety initiatives.Safety Training: Develop and deliver training programs to educate Woodward team members on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and the proper use of safety equipment.Other duties as assignedSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES+/- 10-20 EmployeesKEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIESStrong knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and standards.Excellent communication and leadership skills.Proficiency in risk assessment, methodologies and tools.Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.Problem-solving and analytical abilities.Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.QUALIFICATIONSRequired QualificationsMust have, or be able to obtain prior to starting, one or more of the following certifications: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC), Certified Athletic Trainer, or Registered Nurse.Must have current AED/CPR/First Aid certification.Must have 3+ years of experience in medical or health management field.Provide work related references upon request.Employment in this position is contingent upon successful completion of all pre-hire background checks, including criminal history clearance through the Pennsylvania State Police (PATCH), child abuse clearance through the Department of Public Welfare, Mandated Reporter Training and federal background screening via FBI fingerprinting.Preferred Qualifications:Preferred experience in ski resort, bike park or summer camp operations.PRE-REQUISITESMust have or be able to obtain the following prior to starting work:Woodward will supply information to assist you in obtaining these if needed.Mandated Reporter Training CertificateSafesport Training CertificatePHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTSPhysical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50 lbs.Must be comfortable working in an outdoor and indoor all-season environment.Adhere to all workplace safety practices, expectations, and guidelines.Primary on-site work location: Woodward, PAREQUIRED AVAILABILITY AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTSThis role requires an on-site presence at Woodward Camp in PennsylvaniaYou make us Woodward.
