Job summary

Bridgestone Americas, Inc. in Des Moines, IA, is seeking a Management-level professional in Legal, Compliance & Audit to lead a team focused on employee/labor health and safety and regulatory compliance.

You will develop and implement workplace policies, identify hazards, investigate incidents, and provide training on safety protocols while maintaining regulatory records. The role requires advanced degree qualifications and several years of leadership experience, with the ability to interact

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree; 6+ years of relevant experience including 3–5 years management or direct/indirect leadership experience.
• Master’s degree; 4+ years of relevant experience including 2–4 years management or direct/indirect leadership experience

• Manages experienced professionals who exercise independent discretion and/or manages a functional area or process that may or may not have direct reports.
• Implements policy and strategy for short-term results and influences others outside of own job area regarding policies, practices and procedures

Position Summary

Employee/Labor Health & Safety work encompasses activities related to the wellbeing of employees including:

• Developing and implementing policies and practices to identify/mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace
• Identifying potential workplace hazards, unsafe equipment, work practices, and working conditions
• Investigating accidents and liaising with engineers, management, and health and safety regulatory authorities to identify causes of accidents and prevent their recurrence
• Providing advice and training on safety protocols and conducting audits to ensure compliance with organization and government standards related to employee heath and safety
• Maintaining and analyzing records of workplace injuries, illness, and absences to identify areas of concern and provide information required by regulatory agencies
