Job summary

Georgia Department of Public Health in Columbus, GA is seeking a Health & Safety Inspector to join the West Central Health District 7 team. You will perform vector control duties and support emergency preparedness while ensuring compliance with state guidelines.

Role requires inspecting breeding areas, applying insecticides/rodenticides, safe operation of government vehicles and pest-control equipment, with work hours 5:30AM-2:00PM, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, clean MVR and be insurance eligible.
• Moderate to heavy physical activity and exposure to field conditions.

Responsibilities

• Inspect breeding areas and apply insecticides/rodenticides to infected areas.
• Measure, mix, and store insecticides and rodenticides properly.
• Safely operate government vehicles and pest control equipment.
• Assist in emergency preparedness including pandemic efforts and response.
