Job summary

Valeo in Reno, NV seeks a Health Safety Environmental Intern for a 12-month program. This full-time trainee role supports the site HSE team by ensuring compliance, conducting risk reviews, and updating safety procedures.

Responsibilities include inspections, audits, and implementing corrective actions; updating SDS, ergonomic and PPE assessments; and reviewing safety instructions to maintain a safe, compliant workplace.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's in environmental or occupational safety (or related field) or May 2026 graduate.
• Able to work 40 hours per week from June 2027 to August 2027.
• Completed classes in lockout/tagout, chemical safety, and OSHA/EPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• You will ensure that all requirements of Valeo Group are identified, established and implemented.
• You will check that safety and security equipment are in compliance with requirements.
• You will carry out risk analysis and monitor regulatory survey.
• You will help establish the site Health, Safety, Security and Environment operation procedures and oversee their application.
• You will carry out inspections and internal audits, make recommendations and specify corresponding actions as well as the responsibility for implementing it.
• You will assist in implementing and monitoring action relating to the handling of any non-compliance revealed by the inspections, internal audits and external audits, taking the necessary investments into account.
• You will update and complete Safety Data sheets, plus ergonomic and PPE assessments.
• You will review and update Safety and Environmental work instructions.
