Job summary

Carpenter Technology Corporation’s Hartsville Operations in McBee, South Carolina, seeks an Engineer II - Health & Safety to help identify and control occupational hazards in a high-demand manufacturing setting.

You will design safety devices, review policies, participate in multi-disciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with standards while maintaining knowledge of regulations and delivering safe production.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in related safety science field or engineering.
• Two to five years of experience in a safety related discipline, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Accountable for technical contribution to a project team or sub-team; may be responsible for subsets of deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Identify, analyze and control occupational hazards and promote worksite safety by applying knowledge of industrial processes and applicable laws.
• Assist in design of protective equipment or safety devices for machines and redesign of machines to eliminate hazards.
• Review proposed safety policies and standards for consistency with engineering principles and recommend changes as needed.
• Participate in moderately complex multi-disciplinary project teams to design and implement EHS related projects.
• Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations and processes to determine compliance with standards.
