We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Systems Advisor within our HSE & Sustainability Data & Systems group based in Houston, TX.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and foster strong relationships with stakeholders, including HSE, Operations, Data Management and Analytics (DMA), and IT team members.
  • Plan and coordinate the support of HSE information systems, including but not limited to Intelex V6, Cority, and TrueContext, by collaborating with the information technology (IT) teams, business unit HSE leaders, Data Management and Analytics (DMA) teams, and external contractors.
  • Collaborate with HSE stakeholders to ensure consistency in system processes and adherence to OPC policies.
  • Review and verify HSE metrics in internal and external OPC HSE & Sustainability voluntary and mandatory reports and support the preparation of the OPC Environmental, Health and Safety Committee quarterly board reports.
  • Test and approve HSE information system enhancements, bug fixes, patches, and operational data store (ODS) integrations.
  • Lead specific Oxy HSE information system projects and drive continuous improvement of existing HSE system processes and procedures.
  • Gather and document HSE system requirements for system enhancements, bug fixes, or new integrations.
  • Lead feedback sessions with HSE information system users to prioritize required system enhancements.
  • Review and update HSE information system training materials.
  • Lead demonstrations of new functionality within HSE information systems and processes.
  • Drive innovation and application of modern technologies to HSE systems and processes.
  • Other duties, as required

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in safety, health, environmental, fire protection, business administration, management information systems or similar
  • Experience in resolving HSE system issues
  • Understanding of applicable local, state, and federal HSE regulations
  • Experience supporting HSE management software, such as Intelex, Sphera, or Enablon with Intelex experience being a plus
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the oil/gas industry
  • Experience with information management system implementations, enhancements, and sustainment activities
  • Experience in HSE or a supporting role
  • Experience in a highly collaborative and innovative team with the ability to drive engagement with stakeholders
  • Strong and effective written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
  • High sense of self-awareness, and experience in conflict resolution
  • Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office 365 tools (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience using SQL to troubleshoot problems and test new development (preferred)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification (preferred)
  • Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Spotfire, Tableau, etc.

Relocation will not be provided.
