State of Washington—Washington State Department of Corrections is seeking a Health Record Technician 1 at the Shelton facility. This full-time, permanent role operates Monday through Friday with a day shift, handling patient records, ensuring compliance with laws, and providing records information to authorized personnel.

The position involves health record management, audits, and coordination of requests, with RHIA/RHIT certification or eligibility within six months and a valid driver license;

Qualifications

• RHIA or RHIT certification required or the ability to obtain within six months of appointment.
• Valid driver license.
• Two years or more experience in Health Information Management preferred.
• Experience in a correctional facility preferred.

Responsabilités

• Enter, verify and ensure health/medical records compliance with applicable laws and agency policy.
• Assist with reviewing and updating health record retention schedules and responding to public record requests.
• Health record management and audits; ensure records comply with policies and statutes.
• Provide instruction to staff and supervise unit clerical personnel; coordinate with Health Records Manager.

Formation
