Job summary

State of Utah invites qualified leaders to apply for the Manager of the Utah Professionals Health Program (UPHP). This role directs daily operations, ensures program performance, and coordinates with licensing boards and health stakeholders.

The position requires clinical judgment, staff supervision experience, and strong communication skills. Hybrid work arrangement and state benefits accompany the role in Salt Lake City.

Qualifications

• Attend initial training in-person at Salt Lake City office with hybrid telework once competency is demonstrated.
• Experience managing employees.
• Experience providing education, outreach, or collaboration with health stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Direct the daily operations of UPHP.
• Monitor participant adherence and program performance.
• Evaluate applicant eligibility for program participation.
• Update program rules, policies, and operating standards.
• Respond to return to use incidents of UPHP participants.
• Review and evaluate UPHP participant progress using clinical expertise.
• Coordinate between UPHP and DOPL.
• Collaborate with division leadership, medical director, and UPHP committees and licensing boards.
• Supervise personnel including hiring, workload, training, and disciplinary actions.
• Consult with others on treatment plans and recommendations.
• Act as an expert witness in court cases/hearings.
• Coordinate community outreach and inform the public about UPHP.
