Health Policy Communication Program Manager (Finance)



Nemours is seeking a Health Policy Communication Program Manager to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Washington, DC, Wilmington, DE, Jacksonville, FL, or Orlando, FL.

Nemours Children's Health has embarked on a bold strategy to redefine children's health to create the healthiest generations of children. This strategy is uniquely intertwined with Nemours Children's master brand, designed to articulate how Nemours Children's is advancing the health of children by going 'well beyond medicine.'

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Health Policy Communication Program Manager to help lead enterprise strategic communications and thought leadership initiatives dedicated to its population health portfolio, which includes the National Office on Policy and Prevention, Value-Based Services Organization, and various programs addressing the whole child and social determinants of health. This role will report to the Director of Enterprise Public Relations.

This individual will develop and execute communication, public relations, and thought leadership plans that enhance national reputation, aligned with the Health, Value, and Equity pillars of our strategic plan. They will identify compelling stories, manage media relations, create digital content, and track impact metrics. The candidate should be a self-starter with excellent storytelling, relationship-building, and media placement skills, capable of working across multiple channels including social media, podcasts, and events. Collaboration with colleagues across markets is essential to showcase Nemours' initiatives.

The role offers flexibility in location, with options at our offices in Washington, D.C., Delaware, Orlando, or Jacksonville, with occasional travel required.

Essential Functions

  1. Thought Leadership: Develop and manage a strategic plan to position Nemours as a leader in children's health through diverse channels and media.
  2. Media Relations: Build and maintain relationships with national journalists covering relevant topics to secure impactful stories.
  3. Writing and Editing: Produce high-quality content including press releases, speeches, social media, and website materials.
  4. High Engagement Content: Create compelling digital content that translates research into engaging stories and infographics.
  5. Owned Media: Enhance reputation through podcasts, blogs, and social media, collaborating with thought leaders.
  6. Events: Plan and execute thought leadership events, webinars, and other outreach activities.
  7. Awards: Develop and manage awards strategies, overseeing submissions and promotions.
  8. Monitor Topics and Trends: Stay informed on news and trends to inform communication strategies and identify new opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field; Master's preferred.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in strategic communications or related roles.
