The Maryland Prescription Drug Affordability Board (PDAB) is accepting applications for a HEALTH POLICY ANALYST ADVANCED. Join a team leading the nation in prescription drug policy innovation.
The PDAB is the first agency of its kind in the country—an independent, forward-thinking unit of state government dedicated to making prescription drugs more affordable and accessible for all Marylanders. We are addressing one of the most urgent healthcare challenges: high medication costs. The PDAB collaborates across agencies to identify cost drivers and craft evidence-based solutions, such as upper payment limits, to enhance access and equity.

The Health Policy Analyst Advanced performs data analysis and interpretation to inform PDAB policy and operational decisions. Responsibilities include developing public-facing data reports, analyzing data from sources like the Maryland Medical Claims Database, proprietary drug pricing databases, and partner submissions. The role supports critical functions such as drug pricing trend reports, policy assessments, and drug Cost Reviews. The analyst reports to the Executive Director and influences key functions like policy recommendations and data-driven reviews.
Note: A Master’s degree in related fields can substitute for one year of experience; a Doctorate can substitute for two years.
Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license in Maryland if duties involve driving.
