Job description

This position will report to the Director, Health Plan Contracting & Operations and will serve as the primary point of contact for Health Plans related to negotiations for all applicable MedPOINT Clients. The person will take the lead in establishing and fulfilling MedPOINT’s role, if any, in each client’s health plan contracting negotiations. Such responsibility requires a firm foundation managed care contracting in California on behalf of IPAs, RKKs, and Hospitals for all lines of business to include firm expertise in market dynamics and costs and existing relationships.The role requires the ability to provide regular executive-level updates and recommendations to MedPOINT Leadership, clients, and health plans.

Instrumental to this position is knowledge and experience working in the managed care market to achieve on-target financial negotiations for all product lines.A thorough understanding of health plan and risk pool contract terms, the various product lines, DOFR interpretation, IPA and hospital operations related to implementing health plan and risk pool contract terms, market dynamics as well as MSO operations, is required.
