Job summary

Jo Daviess Carroll Career and Technical Academy seeks a CNA Instructor/Trainer to deliver classroom and hands‑on Health Occupation instruction for high school students, coordinating with Highland Community College for Dual Credits.

The role includes arranging job shadows, internships, and clinical rotations, plus leading advisory meetings with industry partners. Strong communication, leadership, and a BS degree are preferred; IL teaching license eligibility required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree preferred and IL teaching license eligibility for CNA Instructor/Trainer.
• 2,000 hours of Nursing Assistant/Aide work experience
• CPR Instructor Certification preferred; training available
• Experience as an educator or health education position preferred
• Good communication and writing skills; familiarity with Google tools
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; flexibility and adaptability

Responsibilities

• Instruct and coordinate classroom and hands‑on health occupation instruction for CTE Academy students.
• Coordinate job shadowing and work-based experiences for students.
• Supervise student clinical rotations and community-based facilities hours.
• Develop external internship/externship opportunities with regional partners.
• Lead and participate in advisory committees with industry partners and educators.
• Maintain student records and reports in compliance with district and state requirements.
• Represent the CTE Academy professionally and communicate with districts and parents.
• Provide program documentation and grant data as requested by administrators.
