Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly and making them feel welcome throughout the store
• Assist customers with finding products, reaching items, carrying heavy purchases, and passing along feedback or requests to the team
• Help educate customers by offering product suggestions and answering questions
• Assist customers with homeopathic and natural wellness products by helping locate and access products, without giving medical advice
• Monitor product freshness and appearance, replenish and rotate products as needed
• Anticipate daily product needs and maintain a production list to stay ahead
• Check in products, put products away, and review invoices as needed
• Follow proper sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean and organized
• Remove trash promptly and maintain a tidy department
• Work with teammates to ensure a smooth, positive customer experience
• Maintain Hy-Vee dress code, hygiene standards, and all policies
• Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed

What You'll Do

Reporting Relationships

Accountable and Reports to: Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Health Wellness Home, Store Operations, and Perishables, and HealthMarket Department Manager

Education and Experience

Less than a high school diploma or equivalent accepted; up to six months of similar or related experience preferred

Physical Requirements

Frequently stand and walk throughout a shift in sales, food service, or delivery areas

Where applicable to the role: ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparation

Where applicable to the role: exposure to heat- and burn-related hazards associated with cooking, baking, or grilling equipment

Where applicable to the role: ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards

Perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning/sanitation duties

Working Environment

This is a fast-moving role where things stay busy and engaging. You may work in areas with temperature changes or damp conditions, and may encounter equipment movement hazards, electrical equipment, and cleaning products or solvents as part of the day-to-day environment. Safety is always a priority, and training is provided to help ensure a safe and supportive work environment.
