The American Medical Association (AMA) invites applications for a Health Law Summer Intern (Hybrid) in Washington, DC. The 10-week, full-time internship (about 37.5 hours/week) is paid; in-person work at the AMA Washington, DC Office is required at least 3 days per week for hybrid flexibility.

Reporting to a Senior Policy Development Attorney on the Center for Optimal Health Outcomes, you will conduct legal research, draft memos and advocacy materials, and track legislation and regulatory

Qualifikationen

• Be a rising 3L or currently enrolled in a graduate law school degree program (LLM) as of the summer of 2027.
• Health law-related research interests in public health, regulatory impacts on health, and health equity.
• Preferred candidates will have prior health law or health policy experience and knowledge of national health law.

Aufgaben

• Performing legal research related to health law topics.
• Drafting memoranda, summaries, analyses, and recommendations on various health policy issues.
• Tracking new legislation and regulatory developments.
• Drafting, reviewing, editing and/or updating advocacy documents.
• Drafting, reviewing, editing and/or updating internal documents such as policies and procedures.
• Preparing materials for council or board of directors' meetings; and
• Attending local webinars and in-person meetings on a variety of health law topics.
