Job summary

Baptist Health System is seeking a qualified HIM professional to support DNFC/Bill Hold processes, review information, and coordinate with physicians and hospital departments to expedite coding. The role emphasizes accuracy, timely data entry, and adherence to CMS and regulatory standards.

The position requires at least a high school education, with an associate degree RHIT eligibility preferred, and experience in HIM. RHIT/RHIA certifications are advantageous.

Job Summary

• Provides DNFC/Bill Hold Support by reviewing information/reports and follow-up for completion of missing elements with physician offices and hospital departments to obtain the necessary information to expedite the coding process
• Generates reports and maintains databases for communication with the medical staff regarding the deficiency management system as well as adherence to the medical staff medical records suspension policy
• Performs concurrent and retrospective analysis of IP/OP Medical Records consistent with department/hospital standards and assigns deficiencies for physicians to complete
• Reviews/Audits medical records for completeness as required by CMS, TJC and other regulatory agencies
• Maintains the integrity of the Master Patient Index (MPI) system by identifying duplicate medical record numbers and follows procedures to review and correct
• Perform audits, HPF/Cerner Workflow Queues and other departmental support
• Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
