This entry-level position is responsible for processing all release of information (ROI), specifically medical record requests, in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring accuracy and providing customers with high-quality service. The associate must safeguard and protect patient privacy, ensuring only authorized individuals access medical information, in compliance with requests, authorizations, company policies, and HIPAA regulations.

Full-Time: Monday - Friday 8a-4:30PM EST

Responsibilities
  1. Receive and process requests for patient health information according to company and facility policies.
  2. Maintain confidentiality and security of privileged information.
  3. Maintain knowledge of company and facility software.
  4. Adhere to the company's and facility's code of conduct and policies.
  5. Report work, site difficulties, and fluctuating volumes to the manager.
  6. Assist with additional duties or responsibilities as required.
  7. Apply medical privacy regulations to prevent unauthorized disclosure.
  8. Manage patient health records and ensure compliance with HIPAA standards.
  9. Prepare new patient charts, gather documents from paper and electronic sources.
  10. Ensure records are accurate, complete, and properly assembled.
  11. Create digital images of paperwork for electronic storage.
  12. Respond to requests for patient records and transmit them appropriately.
  13. Handle inbound and outbound calls, assist with patient walk-ins, and perform administrative duties like handling faxes and data entry.
  14. Meet productivity expectations and schedule pickups as needed.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to commute between locations and work overtime during peak seasons.
  • Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with office equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Detail-oriented with strong data entry skills.
  • Ability to work independently, respond to changing priorities, and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in healthcare or customer service.
  • Experience with production or metric-based work.
  • Ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Willingness to suggest process improvements.
