The ideal candidate has 1 year of health information management or healthcare-related experience, and an associate degree in HIM, medical billing & coding, or related field may substitute for experience.
Qualifications
- 1 year of experience in Health Information Management or healthcare-related work, including hospital/clinic billing.
- Associate’s degree in HIM, Medical Billing and Coding, or related field may substitute for work experience.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Ensures correct assignment of medical records numbers.
- Retrieves medical records.
- Collects birth certificate information.
- Sorts and files reports.
- Updates record deficiency information.
- Maintains the microfilm area.
