The Health Information Operations Supervisor is responsible for client/customer service and serves as a knowledge expert for the HIS staff. The role focuses on front-line people management and training, ensuring processes are completed in compliance with established guidelines. This role may also assist leadership with planning, developing, and implementing departmental or regional projects. The supervisor provides support to the Health Information Operations Manager, maintains workflow and productivity, handles escalated situations, and fosters a positive work environment. Additionally, the supervisor assists in the new hire process, meets with clients, and develops staff across multiple sites.

This is an onsite role located in Grand Blanc, MI.

Responsibilities:
  1. Lead, train, and motivate a growing team.
  2. Communicate and collaborate with leadership on issues, opportunities, or challenges.
  3. Lead the Audit Team handling requests from Payors.
  4. Review data and provide solutions to clients and leadership.
  5. Suggest process improvements and provide feedback to internal stakeholders.
  6. Manage requests from the Risk Management Team of the client.
  7. Plan for fluctuating needs at client locations and lead client location teams.
  8. Oversee escalation calls from centralized call centers.
  9. Participate in project teams and committees to advance operational strategies and initiatives.
  10. Coordinate with location/client management on complex issues, building strong relationships.
Qualifications:
  • Leadership philosophy centered on service.
  • Ability to support clients and team both onsite and remotely.
  • 1-2 years of health information experience.
  • Well-versed with HIPAA standards.
  • Proficient in presenting via video or in person.
  • Solution-oriented and forward-thinking.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accurate, compliant medical record information.
  • Experience with Power BI and MS Office.
Bonus Points:
  • EMR experience with EPIC or Cerner.
  • Experience in production or metric-based work.
  • Team building and career development experience.
