The Alaska Psychiatric Institute is recruiting for a Medical Records Administrator to oversee health information management operations, ensuring compliant record completion, coding, storage, security, auditing and reporting.

This role develops policies, reviews releases of information, trains staff, and supports health information systems while aligning with state and federal regulations and medical staff requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in health informatics and information management accredited by CAHIIM.
• RHIA or RHIT certification by AHIMA.
• Two years experience assembling patients' health information and/or transcribing and coding.
• Six years of any combination of related education and experience.

Responsabilités

• Oversee daily health information management operations including record completion, coding, storage, security, auditing, and reporting.
• Develop and update policies to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and standards.
• Review and authorize releases of medical information and represent the department in court proceedings.
• Supervise and train staff, monitor documentation accuracy and timeliness, and support health information systems.
• Advise leadership on health information needs and manage staffing within the established budget.
