Job summary

Clinch Valley Health, a Lifepoint Health facility in Richlands, VA, seeks a Director of Health Information Management to lead a 175-bed hospital team focused on data accuracy and privacy. You’ll drive departmental goals, budgets, audits, and regulatory compliance to support clinicians and the community.

The role requires an Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s in HIM or related field; RHIT/RHIA preferred; onsite, full-time, weekdays. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
• Associate’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
• RHIT or RHIA certification preferred.
• Leadership/supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements departmental goals, plan, and standards consistent with clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
• Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
• Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance.
• Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
• Exhibits a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures.

What we’re looking for:

Applicants should have an Associate's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or other related field. Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or other related field.

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or other related field is preferred.
• RHIT or RHIA certification is preferred.
• Previous leadership/supervisory experience is preferred.
