Job summary

The Northeast Delta Human Services Authority in Monroe, LA seeks an experienced Health Information Coder to support billing and coding for behavioral health and primary care services, ensuring compliance with government and insurer regulations.

Reporting to the Administrative Program Manager 2, you will analyze billing records, identify coding deficiencies, maintain fee schedules, audit notes, and assist upper management, the billing team, and clinical staff.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in patient coding.
• RHIT, CCS, or RHIA certification.
• Knowledge of government and insurance coding standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain billing and coding fee schedules and inform staff of updates.
• Process Monroe Clinic claims, track errors, and resubmit as needed.
• Audit billing records and address discrepancies prior to submission.
• Follow up on delinquent accounts and prepare collection letters as required.
• Provide backup support to Credentialing Specialist during peak workloads.
