Job summary

Women’s Health Services is seeking a part-time Health Educator/Counselor to join our team. As a team member you will be an important part of a well-established and growing independent abortion clinic.

Responsibilities include providing patient-centered counseling, obtaining informed consent, educating on contraception, and facilitating intake and appointments. Strong interpersonal skills and EMR familiarity are desirable for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Interest in reproductive health care and abortion access.
• College degree in human services-related field preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to navigate stressful situations professionally and compassionately.
• Commitment to working pro-actively on an interdisciplinary team.
• Computer skills; electronic medical record familiarity preferred.
• Non-English language skills desirable.

• Obtain informed consent for the procedure opted for, ensuring understanding of the procedure, risks, and aftercare
• Provide education on contraceptive options and instructions for those prescribed
• Assure that patients with special circumstances receive the services and support they need
• Provide resources and referrals when appropriate
• Accurately document all patient encounters
• Facilitate intake and appointments over the phone using medical and financial guidelines

Hiring Timeline
