Job summary

The Spokane Tribe of Indians Head Start program seeks a Health & Disabilities Coordinator to oversee health/disability services across the center. You will ensure regulatory compliance, monitor screenings and immunizations, and coordinate with families and staff to support children’s health readiness.

Responsibilities include developing health education, maintaining records, and collaborating with schools and agencies to provide services.

Qualifications

• Training/experience in public health, nursing, health education, or health administration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; work well with children and adults.

Responsibilities

• Ensure operations align with Tribal Plans, Head Start Performance Standards, and regulations.
• Verify health exams within 90 days of enrollment.
• Ensure nutrition and growth assessments and education.
• Organize a health advisory committee with program director.
• Develop/implement health education curriculum on health, dental, safety.
• Conduct daily health checks, screenings, and referrals as needed.
• Promote parental involvement via health-related home visits.
• Monitor health/safety checklists, drills, and playground safety.
