Job summary

The Legislative Research Commission is seeking an Assistant Director for the Office Health Data and Analytics in Frankfort, KY. This permanent, full-time role requires nonpartisan work and strong leadership to guide health data research and reporting.

Responsibilities include developing study topics, managing projects, ensuring reports are accurate and timely, and maintaining data security. Applicants should have advanced policy experience and supervisory abilities in a trusted government

Qualifications

• 7+ years in public policy.
• Advanced knowledge in health and family services and healthcare data.
• Prior supervisory or management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop study topics under the Legislative Research Commission.
• Communicate final report findings clearly and impartially.
• Collaborate with Cabinet for Health and Family Services and others.
• Submit reports to the LRC promptly.
• Plan comprehensive schedules for research projects.
• Lead regular research team meetings and provide guidance.
• Review and revise reports for accuracy and clarity.
• Maintain awareness of federal/state laws affecting research.
• Maintain secure records and data handling agreements.
• Oversee staff recruitment, orientation, and training.
• Travel as required for work duties.
• Provide leadership, set expectations, and evaluate performance.
