Job summary

University of Alaska Southeast on the Juneau campus is seeking a student assistant to support the health clinic with clerical tasks and data entry. Job description

The UAS health clinic is seeking applicants for a student assistant to provide additional office support throughout the Fall 2026 and Spring 2026 academic semesters. This is a great opportunity for a student seeking a flexible schedule and to gain professional office experience. Applicant preference will be given to those who have either completed or pursuing the certified nursing (CNA) or medical assistant program. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis and filled as positions become available.

Knowledge /Skills/ Abilities:

• Working knowledge of software such as Word, Excel, and database applications with the ability to perform data searches using the internet.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail, works in an organized manner, follow instructions and work without close supervision.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and security of all information.
• Demonstrated knowledge of general office procedures and practices.
• Must possess basic clerical skills including accurate typing and filing, and have strong organizational skills.
• Must be familiar with office equipment (fax, copiers, calculators, personal computers).
• Must be able to type at an acceptable speed with a high rate of accuracy.
• Must be able to deal with the public cordially and tactfully, adequate communication skills are required.
• Strong project management experience and coordination.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions, file alphabetically, learn office procedures, filing systems, and operation of standard office machines.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with multiple tasks.
• Highly prefer students who have completed the certified nursing assistant or medical assistant program.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska Southeast campus in Juneau. This is a part-time, non-exempt student position, paid $15.26 per hour for a maximum 10 hours per pay period.
