BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is seeking a claims processor to ensure accurate and timely processing of medical claims in a 40-hour, Monday–Friday on-site role in Columbia, SC. The position requires security clearance eligibility as part of government-related contracts.

Responsibilities include researching claims, verifying procedure and diagnosis coding, resolving edits, and coordinating with internal teams to update patient and insurer records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong analytical, organizational and customer service skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication, spelling and grammar.
• Good judgment and basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Researches and processes claims according to regulations and guidelines.
• Verifies coding of procedure and diagnosis codes.
• Resolves system edits, audits and claims errors through research.
• Coordinates with internal departments to work edits and deferrals and updates records.
