Job summary

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES INC. seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinic operations across primary care, behavioral health, obstetrics, and MAT services.

You will room patients, collect vitals, perform screenings, and assist providers during procedures in a federally qualified health center environment. You will administer injections, conduct point-of-care tests, and maintain accurate EHR documentation while upholding HIPAA and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant training program from an accredited institution.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and infection control standards.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.
• Perform preventive care screenings and identify care gaps using EHR tools.
• Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer injections, immunizations, and medications as ordered.
• Perform point-of-care testing (glucose, urine dip, pregnancy tests).
• Conduct EKGs, phlebotomy and specimen collection when applicable.

Statement of PurposeUnder the supervision of a licensed provider and direction of the Clinic Manager. This role supports efficient clinic operations in the delivery of comprehensive, patient centered, and integrated care, including but not limited to primary care, behavioral health, women’s health, obstetrics, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT). Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, and perform clinical and administrative tasks as required.Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
