Job summary

Planned Parenthood Great Rivers seeks a Health Center Assistant to support comprehensive reproductive healthcare in Central West End, MO. This role works under the Health Center Supervisor as part of a collaborative care team.

Qualifications

  • MA certification preferred; phlebotomy is a plus.
  • Experience with Epic electronic health records.

Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed medical staff with reproductive care as needed.
  • Perform patient medical and social history intakes and provide education as indicated.
  • Complete basic lab work and follow procedures as required.
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, transfer records, and maintain health center records.
  • Provide non-judgmental pregnancy options counseling and referrals as appropriate.
  • Maintain HIPAA and OSHA training and complete required trainings.

REPORTS TO: Health Center Supervisor

FLSA: Full-time, Benefits eligible

COMPENSATION and BENEFITS

$18-$18.70/HR

POSITION PURPOSE:

The purpose of this position is to support the delivery of comprehensive sexual and reproductive healthcare at Planned Parenthood Great Rivers. This role requires a combination of skill and flexibility, as well as a willingness to work as a collaborative and inclusive member of a team. This role requires a compassionate individual with demonstrated communication skills and clinical proficiency.

SCHEDULE:
  • Monday – Saturday; 40 hours a week, 8-hour shifts
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Consistently demonstrate appropriate service behaviors in interactions with patients and colleagues and practices In this Together and Service Standard values
  • Actively contribute to an inclusive workplace culture by working collaboratively as a valued member of the care team
  • Proactively work to resolve conflict and perform service recovery, as needed
  • Administrative duties include answering phones, making appointments, taking messages, transferring records for patients, and ensuring completion of health center records and required forms
  • Perform patient medical and social history intakes and provide education as indicated for the services patients are seeking, as directed by the supervisor/clinician on duty
  • Complete basic lab work and follow procedures as required
  • Provide patients with non-judgmental pregnancy options counseling and make referrals for services based on the patient’s choice
  • Assist licensed medical staff with the delivery of reproductive care as needed
  • Perform all recordkeeping duties related to patient care with accuracy
  • Perform housekeeping and stocking duties as needed
  • Complete HIPAA and OSHA training and other training as required
  • Travel to other health centers within the affiliate as needed
