Job summary

Hazard Community and Technical College is seeking a Health Career Coordinator/Student Support Specialist in Hazard, KY to provide healthcare workforce educational opportunities for middle, high, and post-secondary students to foster interest in the healthcare workforce sector.

The role is based in Hazard, Kentucky, serving the Southeast Kentucky AHEC region. It is grant funded and ends 04/30/2027 with extension to 2029, offering a 12-month term and 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience.
• Experience in coordinating education or workforce programs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Recruit students to participate in health careers programming and guide them to resources.
• Plan and provide health careers programming for students in the Southeast Kentucky service region.
• Develop partnerships with schools to implement programming.
• Evaluate programming for effectiveness and quality.
• Attend meetings that may require local, statewide, and national travel.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

To provide healthcare workforce educational opportunities for middle, high, and post-secondary students to foster interest in the healthcare workforce sector.

• Recruits’ students to participate in health careers programming. Provides general guidance to students who need help navigating resources such as academic support services, mentoring and career counseling programs, mental and physical health care services, and financial management services.
• Plans and provides health careers programming for middle, high, and post-secondary students within the Southeast Kentucky service region.
• Develop partnerships with public and private schools to carry out identified programming.
• Evaluates programming for effectiveness and quality.
• Participate in scheduled meetings that shall include local, statewide, and national travel.
• Other duties as assigned.
