Job summary

Southeast KY Community & Technical College seeks a Health Career Coordinator/Student Support Specialist to provide healthcare workforce education opportunities for middle, high, and post-secondary students in Hazard, KY. This grant-funded role covers the Southeast Kentucky AHEC region and ends 04/30/2027 with possible extension to 2029.

The position is based in Hazard, KY with responsibilities including recruitment, program planning, and partnerships with schools, under Allied Health.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience (minimum).
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Recruits students to participate in health careers programming and provide guidance to navigate resources (academic support, mentoring, career counseling, mental and physical health care, financial management).
• Plans and provides health careers programming for students within the Southeast Kentucky service region.
• Develops partnerships with public and private schools to carry out identified programming.
• Evaluates programming for effectiveness and quality.
• Participates in scheduled meetings with local, state, and national travel.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary
