Job summary

State of Michigan is recruiting a Health Care Surveyor to perform surveys for federally certified long-term care providers, including nursing homes and hospital LTC units. The role involves onsite initial and recertification surveys, as well as investigation surveys to ensure compliance with CFR and SOM guidelines.

Applicants with RN licensure and related survey experience are preferred. The Bureau of Survey and Certification (BSC) within LARA oversees these activities on behalf of CMS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or health-related field (or related health field).
• Possession of a license as a registered nurse (RN).
• Experience in health care survey or related inspection work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct surveys for federally certified long-term care providers (nursing homes, facilities, hospital LTC units).
• Perform onsite initial certification and recertification surveys and follow-up investigations.
• Ensure compliance with CFR, SOM, and related regulatory standards.
