Job summary

Lincare seeks a skilled technician to perform equipment setups for oxygen and respiratory devices, provide patient education, and deliver technical assistance in home environments. The role requires adherence to safety standards and proper documentation.

Responsibilities include maintaining patient records, facilitating prescriptions, and participating in on-call shifts evenings and weekends according to center needs.

Qualifications

• Setup of respiratory devices such as high flow chest wall oscillation devices, cough assists, INR monitors and nebulizers.
• Provide patient education and assist in care delivery as per policy.
• Maintain knowledge of home respiratory care techniques and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient education as part of patient care activity; adhere to policy.
• Maintain current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and related concepts.
• Follow Safety & Regulatory Manual policies (OSHA, DOT, FDA) and use PPE as required.
• Represents Lincare through professional appearance, patient care activities and reports.
• Facilitate prescription collection and maintain organized patient records.
• Work on-call evenings and weekends as scheduled; respond timely.

This employee performs equipment setups in a timely and professional manner.

• Generally responsible for the setup of equipment such as high flow chest wall oscillations devices, cough assists, INR monitors, and nebulizers
• Also responsible for providing technical assistance with equipment
• Incumbents may perform setup of all types of oxygen equipment as well

Job Functions

• Provides patient education as an intricate part of the patient care activity according to the patient need and Lincare policy, frequently in patients home
  • Requires use of a personal vehicle with a valid driver's license
• Maintains current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy concepts
• Follows applicable policies and procedures of the Safety & Regulatory Manual regarding General Safety, OSHA (includes the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment), DOT (driving safety), FDA, and Emergency Planning
• Represents Lincare through professional personal appearance, patient care activities, and content of written reports
• Facilitates prescription collection
• Maintains patient records in complete and organized manner in compliance with company policy and accreditation standards
• Works on-call evenings and weekends on an as-scheduled basis
  • Frequency is determined by the center size and the number of employees available to share in the responsibility
