Job summary

Lincare in Winchester, VA is seeking an Equipment Setup Technician to perform timely and professional setup of respiratory devices and related equipment in patients' homes.

You will provide technical assistance with equipment, educate patients, and maintain records in compliance with company policies. The role requires a valid driver’s license, adherence to safety regulations, and on-call availability evenings and weekends as scheduled.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up respiratory equipment and related devices.
• Must have a valid driver’s license to operate a personal vehicle.
• Adherence to Safety & Regulatory Manual policies including OSHA, DOT, FDA and emergency planning.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient education as part of patient care according to policy and patient needs.
• Maintains knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and related concepts.
• Follows Safety & Regulatory Manual policies (OSHA, DOT, FDA, etc.).
• Represents Lincare with professional appearance and accurate written reports.
• Facilitates prescription collection and maintains patient records.
• Works on-call evenings and weekends as scheduled, with frequency based on center size and staffing.

Job description

This employee performs equipment setups in a timely and professional manner.

• Generally responsible for the setup of equipment such as high flow chest wall oscillations devices, cough assists, INR monitors, and nebulizers
• Also responsible for providing technical assistance with equipment
• Incumbents may perform setup of all types of oxygen equipment as well

Job Functions

• Provides patient education as an intricate part of the patient care activity according to the patient need and Lincare policy, frequently in patients home
  • Requires use of a personal vehicle with a valid driver's license
• Maintains current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy concepts
• Follows applicable policies and procedures of the Safety & Regulatory Manual regarding General Safety, OSHA (includes the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment), DOT (driving safety), FDA, and Emergency Planning
• Represents Lincare through professional personal appearance, patient care activities, and content of written reports
• Facilitates prescription collection
• Maintains patient records in complete and organized manner in compliance with company policy and accreditation standards
• Works on-call evenings and weekends on an as-scheduled basis
  • Frequency is determined by the center size and the number of employees available to share in the responsibility
