Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Health Care Specialist to serve as the first line of medical defense for civilians after disasters and for Soldiers. You will provide emergency and ongoing care, manage medical readiness, supplies, and equipment, and participate in Combat Lifesaver training.

Training includes 10 weeks of Basic Training and 16 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. You will earn while you learn, with paid training, tuition assistance, and a range of benefits.

Qualifications

• Patient care techniques

• Interest in chemistry, biology, psychology, general science, and algebra

Responsibilities

• Administer emergency medical treatment to battlefield casualties
• Assist with outpatient and inpatient care and treatment
• Instruct Soldiers on Combat Lifesaver/First Responder training course
• Manage Soldiers’ medical readiness, medical supplies, and equipment
