Job summary

The DC Army National Guard is seeking Health Care Specialists to be the first line of defense against injuries during disasters and to care for Soldiers and civilians. You will provide emergency medical care, support outpatient and inpatient services, and help maintain medical readiness and equipment.

Training lasts 10 weeks of Basic Training and 16 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, with paid instruction and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Requires Army National Guard enlistment.
• Must have high school diploma or GED, or be a high school junior.
• Must be 17–35 years old.
• Must pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
• Must meet citizenship requirements.

Responsibilities

• Administer emergency medical treatment to battlefield casualties
• Assist with outpatient and inpatient care and treatment
• Instruct Soldiers on Combat Lifesaver/First Responder training course
• Manage Soldiers’ medical readiness, medical supplies, and equipment
