Position Summary
Reporting to the Global Health and Safety Director, this role will help in the ongoing development and maintenance of the company’s health, safety, and environmental program. Additionally, this role will provide administrative and organizational support to the regional and field/site supervisors and managers with a focus on consistency across all operations.
Duties & Responsibilities: 60%-70% Safety Admin, 30%-40% Travel to Site
- Develop, update, and maintain the Company Safety Manual regularly (minimum yearly).
- Create and maintain safety standards and procedures.
- Conduct weekly job site inspections to minimize unsafe work conditions and practices, prevent near misses, prepare written reports of findings, and recommend corrective or preventative measures.
- Coordinate and assist outside safety consultants with on-site inspections as needed.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and maintain OSHA procedures and forms.
- Complete job specification safety pre-qualifications.
- Lead investigations of all injuries and incidents, including vehicle-related ones, and document findings for review.
- Liaise with the H&S Director to plan and deliver safety information across the organization.
- Work with managers and departments to improve safety performance in a multi-state environment.
- Review and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and HazCom compliance on all jobsites.
- Distribute, inspect, and replace PPE, and ensure new hires receive necessary PPE.
- Record data, update logs, monitor equipment, and schedule maintenance.
- Manage all aspects of H&S department meetings, including invitations, attendance, leading, and minute-taking.
- Partner with HR on Return-to-Work programs for Workers’ Compensation.
- Ensure safety orientation and ongoing training for new hires and current employees.
- Develop and participate in safety talks and toolbox meetings.
- Lead regular Corporate Safety Committee meetings.
- Maintain safety training records, certifications, and ensure they are current.
- Deliver safety bulletins and update safety boards.
- Coordinate emergency drills.
- Assist site supervisors with safety and emergency plans.
- Maintain confidentiality of safety information and promote a respectful work environment.
- Perform other safety-related tasks as assigned.
Position Location: Based in Peabody, MA
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, with 3-5 years of relevant experience in construction or HVAC.
- Knowledge of OSHA and federal/state safety regulations.
- Ability to train, influence, listen, and motivate teams.
- OSHA 30-hour training certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Clean DMV record.
- HVAC knowledge is a plus.
- Self-starter with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to NH, VT, MA, NY, and other sites.
Salary: Negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
