Job description

Apollo Mechanical Contractors has an opening for a Safety Professional based out of Reno, Nevada. This position will coordinate and administer site safety programs to comply with federal, state, local, and company safety and occupational health standards and procedures. The Safety Professional will provide safety resource support for assigned operating units, including training and permitting, and deliver overall safety and health leadership to ensure all employees return ‘Home Healthy – Home Safe’ each shift. Travel is required, and a company vehicle or allowance will be provided.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead or participate in incident investigations and emergency response
• Conduct site inspections (track all corrective actions to closure)
• Perform job safety analysis
• Maintain jobsite-specific documentation, including Pre-Task plans and JHAs
• Carry out additional assignments deemed appropriate by the Health & Safety Manager
• Coach and teach safety
• Conduct safety training

Education and Experience

• Professional certification such as a Construction Safety Health Technician (CHST), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BSCP)
• A minimum of three (3) years of work experience in a construction environment where 100% of the day‑to‑day job functions entailed safety, health, or environmental protection, with willingness to sit for and pass the CHST within 3 months of employment
