Location: Oak Ridge, TN | United States Department of Energy Y-12-UPF

Site Safety Rep

This position will coordinate and administer Site Safety Programs for compliance with federal, state, local and company safety and occupational health standards and procedures. It will provide safety resource support for assigned operating units including training and permitting. Additional duties will include leading or participating in incident investigations, emergency response, conducting site inspections (track all corrective actions to closure), performing job safety analysis, maintaining jobsite/specific documentation, and carrying out any additional assignments deemed appropriate by the Health & Safety Manager. The role requires overall Safety and Health Leadership to ensure all employees return ‘Home Safe’ each shift.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist in the safety planning of the work activities.
• Participate in field safety walk downs.
• Provide safety leadership of the contractor’s craft, subcontractors and in the evaluation of occurrences.

Education And Experience

• Bachelor of Sciences in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent and 5‑8 years in construction safety.
• CHST Certification preferred.
• Familiar with and demonstrable experience with construction safety.
• Experience with near‑miss and accident investigations to identify root causes, corrective actions, and draft incident reports.
• Previous work on U.S. Dept. Of Energy Complexes preferred.
