Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Answers clients call signals
• Assists in administration of medications and treatments, takes vital signs, and/or draws blood or collects other bodily fluids, as directed by a physician or nurse
• Bathes, grooms, shave and dresses clients
• Conducts activities for recreation and socialization
• Ensures safety and security of clients
• Feeds clients who are unable to feed themselves
• Observes and documents patient data, behavior and activity
• Prepares clients for treatment or examination
• Provides clients with help walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed
• Transports and/or accompanies clients to treatment units, using a wheelchair or stretcher
• Receives additional training, as required, to gain full proficiency and experience in all areas.

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Health Aide at Georgia Regional Hospital - Atlanta, located in Decatur, GA. Salary Range - $36,608.00 - $40,144.00 based on experience Shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

FOR THIS TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT, STATE LAW REQUIRES A NATIONAL AND STATE BACKGROUND CHECK AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.

Six months experience performing direct care activities, basic nursing procedures and/or training for persons with physical/mental health and substance abuse disabilities and/or recent military service in a related field.

Proficient in computer skills.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED and six (6) months of experience in a related field; one (1) year of experience required at the lower-level Health Aide 1 (HCS020) or position equivalent.
