Job summary

CPCD in Colorado Springs seeks a Health Administrator to ensure health and wellness for children and compliance with health regulations. You will review health files, determine required health standards, and collaborate with families, teachers, and staff to complete health requirements on time.

This full-time role runs 40 hours per week during the August–May program year with summer off, begins Oct 5 or ASAP, and offers a competitive benefits package plus tuition assistance and wellbeing

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to type 50 wpm accurately and have experience operating general office equipment.
  • Ability to interpret records accurately and navigate complex data.
  • Must be able to form professional and collaborative working relationships with parents, children, and staff.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Must be flexible and have the ability to meet timelines.
  • Ability to communicate in a kind and firm demeanor to establish cordial rapport with families.
  • Minimum of two years of experience managing and maintaining records and filing systems.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination, TB test, drug test (including marijuana), and background check in accordance with the Office of Head Start Performance Standards and Childcare Licensing.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation and if using a personal vehicle must maintain minimum liability insurance as determined by the State of Colorado.

Responsibilities

  • Review and assess medical records of newly enrolled children to determine the child’s current health status including access to medical and dental primary care providers, medical insurance, current well child checkups and immunizations.
  • Obtain required enrollment documentation through thorough communication and follow up with families, coworkers, and community health partners.
  • Monitor and process organization wide email communications to ensure continuity of services for families and the timely update of student records.
  • Monitor and ensure up to date health statuses of all children by running and organizing data reports on a biweekly basis.
  • Provide written communication on upcoming annual and 90-day health requirement deadlines to families, teachers, and support staff.
  • Assist other team members with duties as needed throughout the year.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Health/Nutrition Director and as needed for program success.

Job Description

Duties include reviewing child health files, determining needed health requirements according to state regulations and Head Start Performance standards, communicating and collaborating with families, teachers, and other departments to ensure timely completion of all health requirements.


Pay: $21.13/ hr.

About CPCD

CPCD is committed to the comprehensive early childhood development model, which is at the basis of its successful Head Start and Early Head Start programs. CPCD serves just under 1,200 prenatal through five-year-old at-risk, low-income and special needs children and their families. We operate classrooms in six school districts all throughout El Paso County.


Additional Benefits for Eligible Employees (25+ hours per week):

  • Experience in a medical or childcare environment.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
