Job summary

EY is seeking a Senior actuary within the IAAS Health team to lead engagement work, develop team members, and deliver innovative actuarial solutions. This role emphasizes AI and automation to transform health actuarial work while mentoring junior colleagues.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related field, 3+ years’ experience, ASA pursuing FSA, and strong Excel/SAS/C++, with familiarity in Alteryx or Python a plus. Hybrid work model in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
• Approximately 3+ years of experience in an actuarial position.
• ASA, actively pursuing Fellowship (FSA) with a technical emphasis on Group and Health Insurance.
• At least 2 years of experience with Excel, SAS, VBA and/or C++.
• A proven ability to manage time across multiple, often shifting projects, working both collaboratively and independently under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Claim liability estimation (reserving).
• Assumption setting and review for other health insurance actuarial balances (risk adjustment, contract reserves, and similar items).
• Actuarial opinion and regulatory services.
• Actuarial process redesign and software integration.
• Data visualization.
• Ad hoc financial reporting advice.
