Job summary

Coilplus Inc. in Texas is hiring for a warehouse/machine operator to set up and operate slitting equipment according to work orders and specifications.

The role requires basic math, reading, and teamwork to maintain accurate cuts, adjust knives, and keep work areas orderly. Local candidates with a high school diploma and 1–3 years of related metals experience are preferred. Company offers comprehensive benefits and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Strong math fundamentals for measurements and calculations.

Responsibilities

• Calculate knife sheets and lay out spacer and rubbers.
• Check knives for nicks/sharpness; change blades as needed; ensure clean cuts.
• Build, remove, replace, and adjust cutter stands per work orders; verify clearances.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain a clean work environment, free of trash and scrap.

Performs a variety of duties to set-up slitting machines to cut product to proper width according to workorder/customer specifications.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Calculate knife sheets and lays-out spacer and rubbers.

Check knives for knicks and sharpness. Change knife blades when necessary. Check knife performance during operations to assure clean cuts.

Builds, removes, replaces, and deconstructs cutter stands according to workorder specifications/knife sheets. Checks clearances on cutter stands.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Maintain a clean work environment by keeping work area free of trash and scrap.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Basic reading and writing comprehension in English (to read work order instructions, safety, and policy manuals).
• Basic computer skills.
• Proficient in basic math skills.
• Basic communication skills.
• Ability to follow and give instructions.
• Basic problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Ability to work closely with others in a team environment.

Experience & Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One to three years of related experience or equivalent
• Prior metals experience preferred.

Please note: Actual starting pay will be determined based on factors including relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location.
