Job summary

Yoh, a Day & Zimmermann company, is seeking a skilled Shopify Headless Developer to build fast, scalable ecommerce storefronts using Next.js and React. You will leverage Shopify as the backend engine and work with Product, Design, and Engineering to deliver API-driven commerce solutions for complex ecosystems.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of ecommerce development experience with strong hands-on experience building solutions on Shopify Plus
• Strong frontend experience using Next.js, React, JavaScript, and TypeScript
• Experience with Shopify APIs including Admin API, Storefront API, Customer Account API, GraphQL and Webhooks
• Knowledge of Shopify backend concepts including metaobjects, metafields, and Markets for headless storefronts
• Experience building headless or composable commerce apps using API-first architecture
• Strong understanding of ecommerce fundamentals including catalog, cart, checkout, payments, fulfillment, and order lifecycle

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain headless ecommerce storefronts using Next.js, React, JavaScript, and TypeScript
• Develop custom commerce experiences across product discovery, PDPs, cart, checkout, accounts, and post-purchase
• Integrate Shopify with frontend apps using Admin API, Storefront API, GraphQL and Webhooks
• Model and consume structured commerce content with Shopify metaobjects and metafields
• Build scalable integrations connecting Shopify with enterprise systems (payments, fulfillment, inventory, pricing, OMS, CRM)
• Develop custom commerce functionality using Shopify Functions and Checkout UI Extensions
• Collaborate with Product, UX, and Engineering to translate requirements into scalable solutions
• Optimize site and API performance, Core Web Vitals, and mobile storefronts
• Support automated testing (unit/integration/e2e) and deployments
• Use AI-assisted tools in day-to-day engineering workflow
• Stay current on Shopify capabilities and headless commerce best practices
