Job summary

AVK Industrial Products, a Precision Castparts Company, is seeking a full-time Heading Machine Operator Level 2 at our Valencia facility. The role requires operating and basic setup of heading machines and familiarity with progressive and non-progressive headers.

1–3 years’ experience and ability to read blueprints are preferred. You will work under minimal supervision, ensuring quality through in-process inspections, tool changes, and safe operation.

Qualifications

• The ability to read and write English.
• Intermediate print reading & inspection processes
• Basic familiarity of header tooling & equipment (Progressive & Non-Progressive)
• Basic knowledge of wire material & coatings
• Basic trouble shooting

Responsibilities

• Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
• Adheres to quality processes including in-process inspection to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
• Correctly interpret work orders
• Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, number of parts to be machined, and tooling instructions such as cutting speeds, feed rates and specific tools to be used.
• Sets up machines for self and/or others to run jobs involving highest degrees of complexity
• Positions and secures specified tooling and loads wire stock into feeding mechanism.
• Sets cutting speeds and feed rates.
• Starts machine, observes operation, and inspects first run and sample workpiece to ensure machining conforms to specifications.
• Replaces worn tools.
• Lift up to 35lbs
• Work in a team environment, i.e. follow instructions and assist others as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

AVK is currently seeking a full time Heading Machine Operator Level 2 to join our team.

Position Summary

Level Two: Level two heading machine operators work under minimal supervision to operate and perform basic setups of heading machines such as non-progressive cold headers and may begin to operate progressive headers including hot headers. Basic familiarity with progressive header tooling. This role requires intermediate competencies in print reading and inspection processes, as well as basic trouble shooting. 1-3 Years
