Job summary

Marshall Public Schools is seeking a high school track coach to develop athletes’ skills, strategy, and conditioning while upholding district values. The role involves teaching fundamentals, coordinating practices in-season, and ensuring safety in all athletic facilities.

Responsibilities include coaching individuals, scheduling practices, enforcing discipline and sportsmanship, maintaining records, and communicating with families and the community to promote the athletic program.

Qualifications

• Experience in track and field is desirable for candidates.
• Knowledge of track and field fundamentals and coaching principles.

Responsibilities

• Coach individual participants in skills for achievement in the sport
• Plan and schedule the regular program of practice in season
• Oversee safety conditions of facilities and practice areas
• Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior among students
• Maintain attendance forms and insurance records
• Develop communication with parents and the community about the program
• Support district mission, vision, and strategic priorities through daily practice
• Represent the district positively in interactions with students, families, staff and community
• Perform other duties as assigned by the athletic director
