Job summary

Mercy High School invites applications for a dedicated Head Varsity Softball Coach. Lead program leadership, mentor student-athletes, and collaborate with the Activities Director to align with school values. Strong emphasis on discipline, teamwork, and academic balance.

Responsibilities include planning practices, game strategy, roster decisions, and coordination of equipment and logistics. Seasonal commitment with 2–4 hours daily during the season, and 5–6 days weekly during peak times.

Qualifications

• Maintain professional, timely communication with students, parents, staff.
• Demonstrate integrity, sportsmanship, and adherence to policies.
• Collaborate with Activities Director for program decisions.
• Follow Mercy High School policies and NSAA requirements.
• Ensure safe environment and weather precautions during activities.
• Supervise student-athletes before, during, and after practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction for Mercy High School softball program.
• Set expectations for assistant coaches and conduct practices.
• Plan structured practices to develop individuals and team.
• Develop game strategies, lineups, and rotations.
• Run fair tryouts, roster selections, and monitor eligibility.
• Coordinate equipment, uniforms, and inventory with Activities Director.
• Assist with scheduling, transportation, and logistics.
• Support student-athlete academic success and well-being.
