Job summary

Episcopal High School in the Greater Washington, DC area is seeking a head varsity baseball coach starting in the 2026-27 school year. This is a part-time, stipend opportunity designed for an educator committed to developing student-athletes who are leaders in character and effort.

Responsibilities include leading and coordinating coaches, promoting strength and conditioning, and supporting players’ transitions to college, while aligning with school policies and the IAC/VISAA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Cultural competency for working within a diverse school community.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate expert knowledge of baseball from tactical, learning, organizational, and best practices perspective.
• Attract and manage a talented group of assistant coaches and foster a collaborative JV approach.
• Value strength & conditioning, nutrition, and multi-sport participation to develop student-athletes.
• Offer year-round, positive leadership for grades 9–12 and develop character and athletic growth.
• Collaborate with admissions to communicate values and attract students who excel academically and athletically.
• Support players’ transitions to college by building relationships with college programs.
• Promote a meritocratic environment where achievement comes from hard work and teamwork.
• Encourage belonging and character development alongside athletic growth.
• Monitor academic responsibilities and support students as part of a demanding boarding school.
• Build relationships with league member schools and support policy implementation.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and supervise assistant coaches.
