Job summary

Roaring Fork High School in Carbondale, CO is seeking an energetic Head Track & Field Coach for the Spring 2027 season. You will lead student-athletes by teaching the fundamental skills, team strategies, and physical training necessary to achieve both individual and team success.

As head coach, you will foster character, sportsmanship, leadership, communication, self-discipline, and pride in accomplishment while developing student-athletes on and off the track.

Qualifications

• Previous Track & Field coaching experience strongly preferred.
• Experience coaching multiple event areas: sprints, hurdles, jumps, distance.
• Strong knowledge of training principles and competition." ,
• Excellent leadership, organizational, instructional and motivational skills.
• Commitment to developing student-athletes on and off the track.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and supervise all aspects of the Track & Field program.
• Develop daily practice plans and seasonal training programs for student-athletes.
• Schedule the team's competitive season and coordinate meet entries.
• Register student-athletes for track meets and coordinate team travel.
• Purchase and manage equipment, uniforms, and program supplies within the allocated budget.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive team culture.
• Promote academic success, sportsmanship, and personal growth among student-athletes.
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, school staff, and the Athletic Department.
• Ensure compliance with school, league, and CHSAA policies and procedures.
