Job summary

HAMPSHIRE COUNTY SCHOOLS seeks a Head Coach to lead the athletic program at Romney Middle School. You will provide instruction to student athletes, plan practices and games, and oversee equipment and safety during the season.

The role requires a valid WV teaching certificate or WV coaching authorization, plus background checks and safety certifications. You will report to the Athletic Director/Principal and work within school policies.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid teaching certificate or WV coaching authorization.
• Criminal background check required under WV codes.
• Experience as participant or coach of the sport is required.
• First aid and CPR training certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to student athletes in the assigned sport.
• Plan, organize, and schedule practices and games.
• Maintain equipment and ensure safety of athletes.
• Attend coaches’ meetings and comply with WVSSAC rules.
